Nicotine calculator
Most people underestimate what they use, because they count containers rather than units. This works out what a day actually adds up to — and what a year does.
It runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there's no result to be stored.
What the numbers mean — and what they don't
The nicotine figure is what the product contains, not what you absorb. That gap is real and it's large: how long you keep a pouch in, how deeply you inhale, and how fast your own liver clears it all move the absorbed number, and no label can know any of that. Treat it as a ceiling.
There is no safe number here, and this tool won't give you one. No health authority publishes a recommended daily nicotine intake, because nicotine isn't a nutrient with a beneficial range — there's nothing to be deficient in. Any calculator that tells you your total is "fine" is making that up. Why no one publishes a limit goes into it.
Don't compare products by milligrams. The tool deliberately doesn't convert between them. A cigarette is a fast spike, a pouch is a slow hour, a vape is a continuous trickle — two products can deliver similar totals and build quite different habits, which is why "one pouch equals X cigarettes" is a number people repeat rather than measure.
The question the total can't answer
If the yearly figure startled you, that's useful. But the count was never the thing that decides how hard quitting will be.
These do: whether you use one within an hour of waking, whether you sleep with one in, whether you've tried stopping and found out. The questions that tell you more than your count is the honest version of this page.
And if the plan is to bring the number down rather than stop outright, tapering versus cold turkey covers where a taper works and where it quietly becomes a plateau.
What this is: arithmetic, built by someone who has been dependent on nicotine in three forms — see who writes this — not medical advice and not a risk assessment. If you're getting palpitations, persistent mouth or gum problems, or badly disrupted sleep, that's worth a pharmacist or doctor rather than a calculator.
The number that actually helps is the one going down
Stub Out counts what you didn't use — cigarettes, pods and pouches together — alongside the money it saved you and a cartoon villain who falls apart as your streak grows. Free, no account, nothing leaves your phone.
